It can be hard for parents to look at teething babies, especially those who go through a lot of pain. Fortunately, not all parents have to go through with this: some babies do not experience much pain during teething episodes. A teether is definitely something to bite on. However, some pediatricians choose to shy away from it.  For those who do recommend a teether, they prefer the soft jelly-like teethers that contain water. When cooled, the teether can bring some relief to baby’s aching gums. A clean finger from mom or dad and a blanket can serve as teether substitutes.
