The Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo – Must Have Baby Gear?

Baby jumpers have been on the market for decades but the popular doorway baby jumpers of yesteryear are being overtaken by a newer invention…the jumperoo. The jumperoo is a floor stand model of the baby jumper, a sort of cross between a baby jumper and the ever popular exersaucers. And one of the most popular baby jumperoos is the Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo. So is this newest baby gear invention really all it’s cracked up to be?

The overwhelming response to that question appears to be yes. Parents and babies alike love the Fisher Price Rainforest Baby Jumperoo. Customer reviews rave about it. Amazon has over 1100 reviews on this product and almost all of them are four or five star. I read dozens of reviews from parents joyfully announcing that they were finally able to get a shower, do housework, or prepare dinner while their baby was happily bouncing and playing in their Jumperoo.

As for the Rainforest Jumperoo’s design, it has lots of interactive toys to keep baby entertained. It also has lights, music, and jungle sounds. A few parents felt the sounds were annoying but most people loved them and they can be easily turned off if you don’t want them. The Jumperoo is easy to assemble (takes about ten minutes) and can be folded up to store or take places. It fits easily into a closet or corner and I even saw one person state they store it under a bed when it’s not in use.

The Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo does cost more than traditional doorway baby jumpers but is priced in line with what you would pay for an exersaucer. Since it acts like two baby gear items in one, it is actually a pretty good value. Plus, as with other baby gear items, if you take good care of it, the resale value of this item will be very high so you should be able to recoup at least half of your money, if not more.

The jumperoo is recommended for babies weighing up to 25 lbs and 32 inches tall. Most parents commented that their baby was ready for it at about 4 or 5 months. It has three adjustable height levels so it grows with your baby. Parents with shorter babies said they used pillows or phone books under their baby until they grew in to it. You should be able to get at least a good six months of use out of this item before your baby loses interest in being in it. Most babies will lose interest in the Rainforest Jumperoo around the time they start walking.

All in all, not a lot of bad to say about the Fisher Price Rainforest Jumperoo. Having two young boys myself, I have read lots of reviews on various baby gear products over the years and this one had some such an overwhelming amount of positive feedback that you really can’t go wrong with it!
