Single Christian Washington DC Storm Log: Day 1

The power went out the instant we heard the wind howl and gnash its rain laden jowls at our small Single Christian Washington DC town. The sky is midnight dark, and it is only two o’clock in the afternoon.

We are scared of a window busting in with the rage of the storm, so we are huddling together in the center of the house using furniture as our meager attempt for a brace against the worst. The animals know something is amiss. Peeking now through the sliver of window that is not blocked, I can see that we have a long road ahead before we can heave a true sigh of relief.
