Choices For Rose Bush Gardening – Rose Varieties To Choose From

For novice rose bush gardeners, choosing the right kind of flower could be a nightmare because there are a lot to choose from. Sometimes it is a little overwhelming with all the factors that you have to consider. Is it fit for your garden? Well there are a lot of questions and hopefully we can help you find the answers. There are a number of rose variety that could solve any gardening problem that you may have if you know how to use them right. So to help you with your rose bush gardening, here are the more common rose varieties and their characteristics.
1. Hybrid Tea Roses- These roses have tall and long stems which are ideal for trimming. They are ideal sources for indoor flowers as each stem produces its own bloom. For serious practitioners of rose gardening, this is a favourite. Many gardeners feel that it is an integral part of a rose garden. This variety includes the John F. Kennedy Rose as well as the Princess Diana of Wales Rose.
2. Floribundas- they are characterized by having several blooms on a single stem. Their blooms are also rather extravagant and constantly flourish. It is favoured by mass rose bush gardeners as floribundas are perfect for them. Some examples of this type are the Tuscan Sun and the Black Cherry.
3. Shrub Roses- These roses are known for their longer blooming seasons. They are not ideal for cutting due to their shorter stems that are filled with many blooms. They are quite colourful and are also resistant to any plant diseases. They are used by gardeners who want compact colors in their landscapes since they grow in tight-knit bushes. The Fairy Queen belongs to the shrub rose family.
4. Ground Cover Roses- They are often used to cover the ground because they are very low growing roses, which grows to only a foot high. This is compensated by their width which spans to as much as four feet. They are strategically used by gardeners to hide unsightly areas of their gardens using rose bushes. The Baby Blanket as well as the Red Ribbons both belong to this rose family.
5. Climbers- These roses are characterized by long vines that can be wound to a pole, trellis or any support. They are fairly easy to train so it is recommended for beginners. They also bloom all year long. They could be used to design of cover your fences, so most rose gardeners use climbers exclusively for these. Some examples of climber rose include the Stairway to Heaven and the Golden Showers .

For every garden dilemma that you may encounter, there is surely a rose bush to help you. Rose bushes could be utilized not just for aesthetics, but for a number of purposes given the proper maintenance. Be sure to experiment to find out what combinations would suit the garden that you have in mind.
