Here are the steps on how you can make an ordinary square cotton sheet to a baby swaddle.

1.)    Spread the cotton sheet flat. Have one corner to be folded over.

2.)    Place the fold under the baby’s neck

3.)    Wrap the right corner of the sheet over the baby’s body and tuck the sheet underneath the baby.

4.)    Fold the bottom corner of the sheet up over the baby’s feet

5.)    Wrap the sheet’s left corner over the baby’s body and tuck the sheet underneath the baby. The head and the neck are the only parts that are exposed.

Most of the parents would like to swaddle their babies. Their hands are tucked inside the wrap. However, the babies would like to have there arms free because they like to gnaw or suck their fingers. You can try both positions to know what your baby likes. The idea of having a baby swaddle is to keep the baby secured and not to keep the baby warm.
