Sex After Ovulation When Trying To Conceive A Girl Baby: Is This Possible?

I often write articles that offer tips which help couples chose their baby’s gender.  The other day, I had a woman who wrote to me and asked “can sex after ovulation still produce a girl baby? I know that for the best chances, sex should be before ovulation.  But, I’m not really sure of my ovulation day and I’m wondering if I accidentally had intercourse after this, could I still get a girl?” I will answer this question in the following article.

If You Have The Choice, Have Intercourse Before Ovulation If You Want A Girl: I realize that this woman’s window of opportunity had already passed.  She’d long ovulated and if this last round of attempts did lead to a pregnancy, her baby’s gender has already been decided.  She can’t turn back the clock.

But, in a perfect world, you want to conceive three days before ovulation.  The girl sperm are strong and this time line is not a problem. But, three days prior for boy sperm is an eternity.  Many can not survive this.  Now think about this, if the optimum window is three days before ovulation for a girl, and if you, like this woman had sex after ovulation, then one day beyond this window is four days late, and two days is five days late – and so on. 

Having Sex After Ovulation But Still Getting A Girl. Can It Be Done?: The odds of the girl sperm still being viable at the point discussed above gets lower with every day.  However, my reader didn’t tell me how many days after she was talking about.  And, to be fair, I have no idea how acidic she was.  If she did have a high PH, her odds of getting a daughter would go up because her acidity would greatly help to kill off boy sperm. And, she also did not tell me what intercourse positions she used when trying to conceive.  If she had used shallow penetration, again, she’s helping her cause because this too will lower the chances of a boy conception.

So, to directly answer the question, it is possible to get a girl if you have sex after ovulation or late in the window.  But, I believe that things other than timing will often be at play.  To really have the best chance, you’ll need to be acidic (achieved through diet or douching) and you’ll want to use shallow intercourse positions. If you have two of the three, you’ll be much better off than if you only have one or none of the three.

If She Was Able To Start Over: Let’s say that my reader’s attempts don’t result in a pregnancy.  Let’s say that she doesn’t get pregnant this month and is able to try again.  In this case, I would have her get a saliva ovulation predictor so that she’d no longer be guessing about her ovulation day.  I’d have her stop trying three days before. And, I’d have her determine her acidity using PH tester strips.  If her result was not sky high, I’d start her on a diet and a douching regimen to change this. And, I’d help her come up with the right sexual positions when the time was right.
